Quintessential by Brian J. Bonislawsky of Astigmatic is a free calligraphic font with tall, sweeping letters, pronounced thick-to-thin strokes, and sharply tapered ends. Its narrow shapes retain the poised, deliberate motion of careful penwork.

Romance, ceremony, and period storytelling are its clearest territory, making it apt for wedding invitations and historical publishing. The dramatic capitals have the air of a hand-penned signature, and the slimmer lowercase keeps names and short passages graceful. Perfume packaging and theatrical posters can also use its lively curves to echo engraved ornament or period costume.
