Smokum by Astigmatic is a free Western-style serif font with extremely narrow letters and an exaggerated, poster-cut silhouette. Broad slab serifs dominate the tops and feet, and the pinched upright strokes meet rounded joins that give the design its peculiar reverse-contrast look.

Its clearest home is a theatrical poster or title card. For saloon-themed entertainment, vintage food packaging, and fairground branding, the towering forms recall painted storefront lettering and old show bills, letting the type become part of an illustrated sign or emblem rather than serving as neutral text.
