Rider ExtraBlack Font

Rider ExtraBlack by Måns Grebäck is a free high-contrast serif font with the emphatic weight and showy confidence of a nineteenth-century fat face. Broad, tightly packed capitals create a dense silhouette, yet the lettering is cut through by razor-thin joins, narrow white gaps, and thin flat serifs. Rounded outer curves meet abrupt horizontal cuts, giving the design a theatrical, poster-like texture rather than the even color of an ordinary display roman.

A poster is its most convincing setting, with music events, fashion campaigns, and editorial covers all benefiting from the oversized lettering and its strong period reference. For packaging, it turns a product name into a period-style emblem.
