R-2014 by Måns Grebäck is a free digital techno display font with broad proportions drawn from segmented electronic displays. Its rounded forms feature deliberate breaks, clipped joins, and sharply angled cuts that make the even strokes resemble a customized control panel.
It can move between science-fiction game title cards and sports graphics because the open segments recall both futuristic interfaces and large scoreboard displays. Electronic-music posters and technology branding tap into the same retro-futurist genre.
