PixL Font

Pix L by Keith Bates of K-Type is a free pixel font built from stark square modules and right-angled strokes. Its forms are crisp and mechanical. Across the lettering, long rectangular strokes alternate with isolated square blocks in the manner of an early low-resolution screen.

Game interfaces and electronic music artwork draw on the same arcade-era geometry, though each uses its strict grid in a different way. The broken, stepped diagonals can operate like tiny screen icons rather than ordinary type, linking text to surrounding pixel art. It is equally at home on retro computing packaging and game merchandise, where the block-built letters echo the products themselves.
