Joystix Monospace from Typodermic Fonts Inc is a free pixel font with the blunt, upright look of early arcade lettering. Its broad forms carry substantial weight, with squared openings and clipped inner turns that make the alphabet feel decidedly mechanical. The spacing stays even and gives each letter a firm visual beat.

Arcade game title screens and electronic-music posters draw on the same hard-edged digital character, one nostalgic and the other deliberately synthetic. Joystix has been updated. Accented characters have been replaced, and punctuation and symbols have been added. The monospaced version remains free. A proportional version, Joystix Proportional, is also available.
