JLSSpaceGothic-RNC Font

JLS Space Gothic-RNC by James Stirling and the Fontry is a free retro-futuristic display font with rounded geometric lettering. Broad curves meet clipped corners, and the strokes keep an even, substantial weight across the alphabet. Several letters have a compact, machine-cut silhouette.

Its space-age styling recalls control panels and science-fiction title graphics, making it apt for game interfaces and event posters. The broad forms can also shape branding for arcades or technology products, where the lettering supplies a friendly mechanical edge. With spacecraft, circuitry, or neon city illustrations, its cutaway joints and softened corners can become part of the same imagined hardware.

JLS Space was the creator’s first computer-format font. Its character set consisted of uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and basic punctuation. The font was lost for fifteen years before Mike Adkins found the file on a failing hard drive and sent it to the creator. Data Gothic was subsequently developed from it, and the project was completed almost twenty years after it began.
