Gustav Black Font

Gustav Black by Michael Schinköthe of Greatmade is a free eroded display font with massive, tightly packed letters. Soft corners and uneven edges temper the weight, and scattered scratches give the face a battered print-shop texture.

Independent burger bars, skate labels, and music venues could build a lively identity around its rough, oversized forms. It also fits gig posters and merchandise with an informal, hard-worn attitude. In editorial design, the dense silhouette is particularly suited to forceful magazine cover lines about street culture, food, or underground music.
