Estrangelo Edessa, designed by Paul Nelson and George Kiraz of the Syriac Computing Institute, is a free Syriac calligraphic font. Rounded strokes turn sharply into hooked ends, giving the script a firmly penned appearance. The compact forms create an even, dark texture across the lettering.
Cultural institutions and Syriac-language publishers could use it for branding, books, and exhibition graphics. It also suits historical event posters with manuscript-inspired imagery. Within institutional branding, the script can form a cultural emblem rather than serve as simple labeling.
