DK Vermilion, designed by David Kerkhoff in 2013, is a free handwritten font with tall, wiry letters and an unmistakably drawn-by-hand finish. Its narrow forms, wavering strokes, and uneven joins create a restless line without looking messy.
Indie music and offbeat comedy are good subjects for this lettering. It suits gig posters, album artwork, event flyers, and cafe branding, where the slender shapes can suggest a quick marker sketch. Younger creative audiences may also appreciate its informal, eccentric voice.
