Crackvetica by Max Infeld of Xerographer.com is a free eroded display font with the broad, forceful proportions of a heavy sans serif. Its dense letters are cut through by branching cracks and scattered chips that resemble dried earth or fractured paint. The damage varies across the forms, keeping the texture rough and convincingly uneven.
Horror film posters and protest graphics draw on the fractured surface in different ways: one for menace, the other for urgency. Album covers and skate merchandise share its battered, hard-worn attitude.
