Word-Stuff by Tom Ledin is a free hand-drawn display font built from broad, irregular capitals. Dense crosshatching fills the letters and their offset shadows, giving the forms the look of pen-and-ink cutouts. The uneven outlines keep the construction lively and deliberately rough.
Children's publishing and indie music posters draw on different traditions, but both suit this font's illustrated, homemade texture. It can also turn merchandise and snack packaging into something resembling a hand-inked comic title, though cover lettering is its most convincing role.
