DKCastanea Font

DK Castanea by David Kerkhoff is a free handwritten font with tall, wiry letters and a deliberately unsettled outline. Stroke widths shift abruptly, and several forms look as though they were traced twice with a quick, dry pen. The spacing feels improvised.

Its scratchy line can become part of loose ink illustration on indie music posters, book covers, and editorial artwork, rather than reading as detached typesetting. On small-batch food packaging or craft merchandise, the uneven heights and awkward curves can support a homemade brand identity that resembles labeling drawn directly onto the product by hand and corrected on the spot.
