akaChen, designed by James Daniel Milligan for akaType, is a free slab serif display font with an exceptionally dense, hard-edged silhouette. Its broad strokes and oversized rectangular serifs lock the letters into a compact row, with sharp joins interrupting the otherwise sturdy construction. The effect is blunt and industrial.
That forceful build suits music posters and editorial covers but also gives rugged food or drink packaging an old factory stamp quality. For streetwear merchandise and independent venue branding, the blocky letterforms can become the main mark of a practical, no-frills identity.

Popis
There are several "free" fonts based on this famous typeface floating around the Internet. They fall into 2 categories: poor quality; or renamed copy of a font from a big-name foundry. This font is a clean digitization based on my visual interpretation of the typeface.
